Your parking guide for Hull
(ferry parking)
Are you planning a trip from Hull to Rotterdam via ferry? Sorting out parking at the Hull ferry terminal can make your journey smoother if you don’t want to take your car along. Let’s break it down for you.
Understanding parking choices
The three choices you have when you want to park at Hull, and why we would probably always go for the first choice…
1. Terminal parking
If you prefer parking close to where the ferry sets off, terminal parking is your go-to. It's super convenient but can fill up fast, especially during busy times. If you want to park here make sure you arrive earlier than early before your departure.
- Car parking is charged at £10 per 24-hour period at the P&O Ferries Terminal.
While this isn't that cheap compared to parking at Hull we want to mention that the port is quite remote, you can't just walk from long distance parking stations in Hull.
- Hedon Rd, Hull HU9 5PS, U.K.
2. Off-Site free parking
There are other places to park near the terminal. These spots might be a bit further away, but they can save you some money. One is from walking distance as you can see on our image, this is not a secured car parking though, so use it at your own risk.

3. Off-site long-term parking
Of course, it’s also possible to park your car outside the port area. While this is likely much cheaper than parking at the terminal, keep in mind that these parking options are not located very close to the ferry terminal.
A list of nearby parking options (or view them all on the map):
- Cheapest: George Street Multi Storey Car Park (£3 for 24 hours)
- Osborne Street Multi-Storey Car Park (£12 per 24 hours)
- Fruit Market Multi-Storey Car Park (£15 per 24 hours)
- Albion St. Car Park (
- St. Stephens Square Car Park (£12 per 24 hours)
It’s an hour's walking distance away though as all long-stay parking spots are far away from the terminal. There aren’t many other good locations like this nearby.
What you could do, though, is the following
- Drive to P&O Hull early, and drop off your c0- passengers.
- Drive 15 minutes to the Fruit Market Multi-Storey Car Park.
- Walk back (1 hour!) And ferry to Rotterdam!
Public transport from Kingston upon Hull to the terminal
Planning to park your car outside the port? Then it’s very important to purchase a bus transfer along with your P&O Ferries ticket, as there is no direct public transport to the ferry terminal.
The bus departs at 5:00 p.m. from Hull Paragon Interchange (the central station in Hull) to the P&O Ferries terminal. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes.
It’s therefore a good idea to purchase the bus transfer together with your ferry ticket. This guarantees you a seat on the bus and saves you hassle during your trip. Get your tickets here.
Free and paid parking options
At Hull Port, the terminal parking simply costs a bit more because of the convenience.

- Book Ahead: Try booking your parking spot in advance online. It can save you some cash and guarantee you a spot, especially when lots are busy.
- Get There Early: Aim to arrive with plenty of time to spare before your ferry leaves. It gives you room for unexpected delays and makes finding parking less of a rush.
