Ferry to Holland with your motorbike
Everything you need to know about taking your motorcycle from the UK to the Netherlands. The Hull to Rotterdam route is the main overnight crossing for bikers. After arrival at Europoort, you can quickly ride towards Rotterdam, The Hague, or Amsterdam.
Riding in the Netherlands
The Netherlands is a great country to explore on two wheels. Roads are well-maintained, and motorcyclists benefit from excellent signage and flat terrain. You can reach major cities within hours, or take smaller routes through rural areas and coastal roads.
Motorbikes are welcome on Dutch roads, but helmets are mandatory for both riders and passengers. Carry a reflective jacket, a warning triangle (recommended), and your driving licence, insurance, and vehicle registration papers at all times.
Boarding the ferry
Motorbikes board the ferry via the same vehicle lanes as cars. You’ll be directed by staff to park in a designated motorcycle area on the vehicle deck. Bring your own straps if you prefer, although securing equipment is usually provided on board.
- Check-in opens: 15:00 (Hull) / 16:00 (Rotterdam)
- Boarding starts: 17:00
- Check-in closes: 90 minutes before departure
- Disembarkation: about 15 minutes after arrival
